About Academic Centre
By inviting international annual scholars to engage in thematic discussions, with a broad global perspective and research viewpoint, it explores diverse perspectives, varied topics and multi-dimensional approaches to contemplate the development trends. This includes trends such as human civilization in order to initiate discussions on the exchange and shared learning between chinese civilization and civilizations worldwide.
The museum utilizes publications and printed materials as platforms for its endeavors, fostering knowledge creation. It documents its research ideas and creative ventures in order to leave behind *reflections* and inspirations on cultural and artistic endeavors for future generations.
Dunhuang Museum recruits creative individuals globally, such as artists, musicians, designers, architects, writers, scientists, etc. This is done by using methods such as art residency, exhibition promotions, and international exchange programmes. Our goal is to enhance this exchange and to encourage this collective influence between Dunhuang, Shanghai, and the international art communities. This initiative aims to foster the dissemination, interaction, and evolution of global art and culture, whilst also fostering these emerging Chinese young artists onto a broader international stage.
On a global scale, by examining artists' creative concepts throughout different periods, our aim is to offer a larger scope of representations over the course of their developmental direction. These case studies will be integrated with the Dunhuang International Art Residency Project, inspiring artists to be more reflective and interpretive with the classics of Chinese history.
The context of the collection is based on the ongoing development of the International Art Residency programs and artist case studies.
