The Dunhuang Contemporary Art Museum, established in 2024, is located in Changyang Campus, Yangpu District, Shanghai. It is jointly initiated by Dunhuang Culture & Tourism Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yangpu Science and Technology Innovation (Group) Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Fucai Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. Rooted in Dunhuang culture, the museum showcases the diverse world of art and thought through collections, exhibitions, research, publications, digital transformation, artist residencies, and public education programmes centred around modern and contemporary art. Dedicated to exploring the historical narrative of modern Chinese art and interpreting traditional culture in the present-day context, the museum bridging classical heritage and modern insight. With a broad perspective, it aims to establish an international platform for artistic practice and theoretical research with China as its locus.

Tickets Information

Please go to the "Dunhuang Contemporary Art Museum" mini-program to purchase tickets, or buy tickets through the on-site ticket counter (limited tickets available on-site). The ticket includes admission to the museum and special exhibitions.

Ticket options: The ticket includes access to all galleries and special exhibitions.

Discounted tickets are available for seniors, people with disabilities, students, military personnel, media, and children (children aged 6 years old or younger, or under 1.2 meters tall can enter for free, but must be accompanied by an adult; one adult can accompany one free-entry child). Valid identification is required for entry.

Visiting Tips

To visit the Dunhuang Contemporary Art Museum, you need to purchase a ticket for a specific date. Tickets are limited in quantity, and only a few remaining tickets are available on-site. Once sold out, no additional tickets will be issued. Tickets are valid for the same day and will expire afterward. Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. One ticket is valid for one entry only.

After purchasing a discounted ticket, please bring the relevant documents to use as a voucher.

Large luggage, tripods, drinks, food, and pets are not allowed in the exhibition area of the Dunhuang Contemporary Art Museum. If you need to store these items, please inquire at the front desk about storage services.

It is strictly prohibited to bring flammable, explosive, toxic, or harmful items into the museum, and smoking is not allowed throughout the entire facility.
